The Daymer Bay range of Iced Teas is an exciting new arrival to the UK Soft Drinks market. Daymer Bay Iced Tea is an independently owned English brand, and is focused solely on producing Iced Teas.
With the UK’s cultural tradition for hot tea, compounded by a limited choice of Iced Teas, the size of the Iced Tea market in the UK is a small fraction of that of the USA, and significantly smaller than in many EU countries, where Iced Tea consumption has tripled in the last ten years.
Daymer Bay Iced Tea Company, founded by directors Anthony Jenks and Patrick Waterfield, is committed to closing this comparative volume gap with the rest of the world by creating delicious and nutritious drinks which taste better than its competitors, and by establishing a new, exciting and original brand which will broaden the appeal of Iced Tea in the UK.
Anthony Jenks was previously Managing Director of Cranley Foods, where he successfully launched several food and drinks brands in the UK prior to selling the business in 2001.
The Daymer Bay name comes from a long, sandy beach in North Cornwall which has long been popular with sailors, windsurfers, kite-surfers, walkers and families. The bay evokes the natural, fresh and healthy values that the brand represents.
Daymer Bay Iced Tea was launched in Cornwall in April 2010 in Lemon, Peach and Mango flavours. New flavours -Pomegranate, Green Tea with Apple and Green Tea with Elderflower launch at IFE in March 2011.
The tea is sourced in Sri Lanka, blended and bottled in the UK and is distributed via a network of appointed regional distributors throughout the country.
The integrity of the product is vital to the owners, and the emphasis has been to create a healthy, sugar-free and fat-free product that will appeal to all ages. All ingredients are natural, and no artificial sweeteners, preservatives or other additives have been used.
The brand will be supported through marketing campaigns in areas of high student population, and promotional activity at sporting and festival events throughout the 2011 summer months.
Anthony Jenks says: “We aim to kick-start the UK Iced Tea market through an imaginative and innovative approach. Daymer Bay Iced Tea has received encouraging reviews for its quality and taste, and I think will enhance the profile of Iced Tea in the UK”.
